STUDENT EXPERIENCE

The Self-Awareness Triad

At Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy Institute, we are training holistic practitioners who can impact the world around them in large and small ways.

* Our focus on social justice informs how we  think about applying Ayurvedic principles to improving both individual and public health.

* Our focus on research literacy provides our students with the means to dialogue with other health professionals and to offer their clientele the latest evidence on Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy as a powerful healing discipline.

* Integrated mindfulness modules mean students focus on self-care as they acquire the tools to heal others.

This triad of social justice, mindfulness and research literacy prepares our students to make maximum impact in transforming their communities.

A Healthy World is a Just World
.

Healthy bodies, minds and spirits require freedom from injustice and oppression - for everyone.  The One Spirit curriculum contains an enhanced focus on how we can use the principles of Ayurveda and Yoga to heal our world while we heal ourselves.

Integrated Mindfulness Modules

Students will learn evidence-based mindfulness practices that provide measurable benefits in terms of stress reduction and resilience-building in simple, effective and accessible modules. These tools will enhance your journey as a healing professional and will offer effective strategies you can share with your clientele.

Evidence-based practice and whole-systems research

Dr. Rioux is an accomplished clinical researcher and specialist in whole-systems research. She has conducted pioneering research honoring the philosophy and practices of Ayurveda that is relevant for the biomedical community.  In the AYTi curriculum, you will review the best peer-reviewed evidence for the effectiveness of Ayurveda, to share with your clientele. You will learn basic whole-systems research concepts and with the support of AYTI faculty, will write an original paper exploring an aspect of Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy
